Josiah is an accomplished neo-classical composer and pianist with a unique style- deploying lush harmonies while fringing on elegant simplicity. His works are mostly narrative, focusing on beautiful, delicate melodies, at times combining electronic and orchestral elements, while keeping piano at the center.

Inspired by nostalgia, introspection, childlike wonder, mystery, and melancholy, his works capture the beauty of deep reflection, warm memories, and wistful dreaming, evoking the deeper, haunting, mysterious, intimate, delicate, emotional facets of life. 

Musical influences include Erik Satie, Joep Beving, Radiohead, Nils Frahm, Brian Eno, Ludovico Einaudi, John Williams,  Ennio Morricone, Randy Newman, Coldplay, and U2.

Josiah and his wife, Heidi, live in Vancouver, Washington, where he composes thoughtful piano works, crafts original music for advertising, records and edits location sound and foley for brand campaigns, and teaches piano in the Portland metro area. He is also one half of the music duo Lilli & Charles, which is a project formed by him and Heidi.
